Advanced Nurse Practitioner for Urgent Care Centre in Stratford-upon-Avon. £38.50 - £62 per hour (including holiday pay).

An Urgent Care Centre in Stratford-upon-Avon is looking for an ANP to assist with the provision of same day care. This service is even more vital now, than ever, as it reduces pressure on hospitals by avoiding unnecessary admissions and ensures patients with minor conditions can receive care despite current challenges.

This service runs throughout the night on weekdays, and you can pick start and finish times of your sessions between the opening hours of 6pm through to 8am. On weekends they are open 8-8, and again they offer flexible working hours; you can pick the start and finish times of your session, within these opening times.

Requirements of the role:

While patients are thoroughly triaged to ensure no COVID-19 positive patients or suspected cases attend, you would otherwise need to see a full range of Minor Ailments and for all ages, from babies through to palliative care. There may be Home Visits required for palliative care patients (it isn't essential you be able to undertake these, but it is desirable).

You would have 12-15minute appointments to see patients, to assess, diagnose, treat, refer and prescribe for Minor Illness/Ailments as required.

The computer system Adastra is used for consultations.

Essential qualifications and experience:

  • Independent Prescribing
  • MSc in Advanced Practice
  • Experience seeing, assessing, diagnosing, treating and referring for Minor Illness.
  • Experience seeing all ages (from newborns through to elderly)
  • Comprehensive unscheduled urgent care experience
  • Experience using Adastra computer system

Due to the current COVID-19 situation, there are extra safety measures in place in the interest of your safety at work. All patients are screened by 111 first and shouldn't therefore come to OOH if they have any COVID-19 symptoms. However, we are providing the required PPE for all employees and taking the preventative measures where possible.

Is this something you could help with?

We are asking anyone who is able to take some additional shifts to help out the NHS at this time, to please consider doing so. If you meet the criteria above and could assist with this key Primary Care service, we would greatly appreciate your help. We can offer flexible working hours (you can fit shifts around your other commitments, however best works for you), and high rates of pay (from £38.50 - £62 per hour, including holiday pay).

This centre is part of a group providing Out of Hours care for Rugby, Warwick, Stratford-upon-Avon, Nuneaton and Coventry. If you could consider work in a number of these areas, please let me know!
